Making A Difference
Since its inception, the Club has supported grassroots nonprofits. Our focus is to support and empower women, young girls, children, animals in distress and the differently-abled.
ACIW CHARITY SHOPPING MELA
Recognizing that charities often do not have the funds to market themselves, the ACIW Charity Shopping Mela was introduced to provide a platform for charities to showcase and sell their products, and to give them the opportunity to interact with thousands of visitors from the local and expatriate communities.
The ACIW Mumbai Charity Shopping Mela is an initiative that provides an opportunity for charities, social enterprises, and local businesses to showcase their products and services to the Mumbai expatriate and local community. An annual tradition for many years, we’re returning with our Mela since 2019. A favorite of expats and locals alike, we look forward to seeing our regional communities come together to shop for a cause!
Charities are offered a free table while social enterprises and unique vendors pay a small fee to participate. All funds go directly to support the work of worthy charities. This event doesn't just raise funds—it raised spirits, solidifying the Charity Mela as a beacon of communal goodwill and impactful giving.
This year, the Charity Mela will be held at Trident BKC on Sunday, the 10th of November 2024.
How Does It Work?

Special Events and Fundraisers, make up a significant portion of our calendar, spotlighting our commitment to philanthropy. Our Charity Partners' tireless work in creating meaningful change and offering hope to those in need aligns perfectly with our values and mission, making them ideal partners in our philanthropic endeavors. Together, we strive to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals and families, uplifting them through challenging times with compassion and practical assistance.
Over the years ACIW Mumbai has donated to the following charities:

They provide a loving and temporary home for the parent or care taker and the child undergoing the treatment for cancer. Their mission is to offer a home-like environment for these families and we also try to improve the quality of life of these children by providing practical support services, educational resources and recreational programs.

They empower people with special needs, focusing on ability over disability. As a charitable trust, they combat exclusion and stigma faced by individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Their mission is to provide guidance and education, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives within society.

YODA's mission is to attend to stray animals in distress and give them prompt treatment and rehabilitation via best in class medical and behavioral rehabilitation services by their expert team of vets and behaviorists.
With their R3 program, they ensure each animal is efficiently rehabilitated & released or rehomed within a span of 25 days.

BCPT supports projects in all fields – education of children and youth, care of senior citizens, women’s empowerment and the girl child, health and nutrition, and community development.
They provide initial financial support and encouragement to new fledging NGOs and for new experimental projects. They also offer NGOs, ideas and suggestions for new projects or extensions based on their core competencies.
Together, with BCPT, we have sponsored the education of 10 girls in high school. These young girls have received a full scholarship for their 11th and 12th grades.
